I have to admit that I may have been living under a rock since I just heard about the air show happening in Mountain Home next week.

The Gunfighter Skies Air Show returns to Mountain Home Air Force Base this weekend after eight-years, the result of nearly two years of planning and lessons learned from past tragedies.

The air show takes place Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17.

When and where: Gunfighter Skies runs May 16-17 at Mountain Home Air Force Base, with gates opening at 9 a.m.

Get ready, Idaho! Gunfighter Skies is returning in 2026, and we’re celebrating America’s 250th with an unforgettable weekend of aviation, history, and family fun. We’re honored to welcome The United States Air Force Thunderbirds as our special guests, along with an incredible lineup of civilian performers who will light up the sky with heart-pounding, jaw-dropping acts.

Performers include USAF Thunderbirds flying F-16s, A-37 Dragonfly, P-38 Lightning, F-15, C-47, P-51, F-86, P-47, UH-60 Blackhawk, A-10 Warthog, E/A-18G Growler, Paratroopers, and more!
