UH-60 Black Hawk
The UH-60 Black Hawk is the U.S. Army’s frontline utility helicopter. While renowned globally for its combat record, the Black Hawks flown by the Idaho Army National Guard hold a special dual-role, serving both the nation overseas and the local citizens of Idaho during state emergencies. Introduced into U.S. Army service in 1979 to replace the iconic UH-1 "Huey," the Black Hawk quickly became the workhorse of military aviation. Powered by twin turboshaft engines, the UH-60 provides exceptional speed, lift, and maneuverability even in high-altitude, mountainous environments.
